Destination
Situated in northern Dalmatia, 20 km NW of Šibenik. Covering an area of 19 km2 it is home to around 5,000 inhabitants, who mostly make their living through tourism and agriculture, especially by growing olives. In the village of Tisno Murter is connected to the mainland by a lifting bridge. The island is covered with greenery and the impression it makes is peaceful and harmonious. The weather is warm and stable. It is popular for its clean sea, lovely beaches and leisure facilities. It is the starting point for trips to two national parks: the islands of Kornati and the waterfalls on the Krka River.
